All of our Members and Friends are welcome to join us.  Thank you for your continued  support and participation in our work to protect and care for this wonderful heritage site.

Restoration activities are continuing on site, and will be picking up pace through the coming months.  After the causeway restoration was completed, we began work to restore power to the site. this work involves installation of a new solar array to provide the main source of power (it will be tied in to the BC Hydro grid as a backup), and construction of a new electrical shed.  This work has started, and will continue over the next few weeks.  Trenches were dug and conduit laid to bring the power to the tower and engine room – this work will be completed in the next couple of weeks, as we connect the cables to the buildings.  Following that we will replace the corroded electrical systems inside the buildings.

Later this summer, we will be starting on the restoration of the tower and engine room themselves – concrete repair, window replacement, corrosion removal and metal re-fabrication, and repainting.

This work can be hazardous at times, and will require large equipment to be brought on site on some occasions.  Restoration personnel will be on site whenever work is being conducted.  Please be aware of safety considerations, follow posted instructions and help the Society restore this Heritage Site by cooperating with on site personnel .  For more details about the restoration project, please click here.

Reminder about PARKING:  Parking and access to the Lighthouse Heritage Site is only via Sheringham Point Road – no other legal access is available. Please respect the neighbours.  Click here for directions.
